Spooktacular Ukulele Jam
Join us for our monthly ukulele jam - Spooktacular Ukulele Jam - on Wednesday, October 9, from 6 - 7:30 pm (MT), hosted by Denise Leslie! Jam time is available in person at Four Leaves Winery on Main Avenue in Durango AND online through a Zoom link. We are RETURNING TO FOUR LEAVES WINERY so come enjoy a glass of wine, strum and/or sing some tunes...listening is allowed too!
Beginner Ukulele Orchestra Group
Students will learn to read tablature, explore basic music theory concepts, and play individual parts through a select repertoire of songs with beginner tablature structures, including tunes from classical, oldies, and rock to pop songs. To prepare, students must be able to read a chord chart, tune the ukulele, and have basic strum skills at a minimum. Signing up for a series of private lessons is highly recommended if the student is an absolute beginner.
Thoughtful Ukulele Orchestra
Calling all ukulele enthusiasts - oh wait, not JUST ukulele players will be welcome to be part of this group! The adult ukulele orchestra comprises soprano, concert, tenor, and bass ukulele members; however, to enhance the orchestra experience, piano, guitar, flute, and violin players may find opportunities to play with this new group. The song repertoire will be selected depending on the instrumentation of members. It will include classical tunes from Beethoven to Mozart, popular oldies from the '60s, '70s, and ‘80s, and even more current songs of today's artists. This group will be included in a series of Stillwater Music Adult Showcases and other potential performance opportunities. To prepare, students must know chords, tune the ukulele or their instrument, understand tablature reading, have basic music theory knowledge, and basic finger-picking and strum skills (where applicable) at a minimum. Signing up for the Beginning Ukulele for Adults course is highly recommended if the student lacks the required skills.
Aloha Ukulele Group
Students will learn basic chords, strumming patterns, finger-picking, and explore basic music theory concepts while playing a repertoire from oldies, oldies, classic rock, and pop songs. There are options for a recital performance or an opportunity to participate in the Stillwater Music Adult Showcases.
To prepare, students must have a ukulele, read a chord chart, tune the ukulele, and have basic down-strum skills at a minimum. Signing up for a series of private lessons is highly recommended if the student is an absolute beginner.
